MNCP Staffing is currently reviewing resumes and interviewing for an Experienced Estimator for an exciting direct hire opportunity for one of their premier clients in the Las Vegas area. The ideal candidate will have worked in the Commercial Construction Industry which includes working on projects large in scale with a value of over $5 Million Dollars. You should be innovative and have the ability to work in both the private and public sectors.

Responsibilities of the Estimator:

  • Read and outline project specifications
  • Establish bid strategies, concerns, and advantages
  • Define major or priority subcontractors
  • Direct Plans Coordinators for vendor/subcontractor pricing/bid solicitation and coordination
  • Establish, write, and review work scopes for subcontractors
  • Conduct pre-bid meetings with operations personnel and subcontractors as needed
  • Help operations staff on project logistics, staging, phasing plans, and coordination
  • Set up Bid Day Summaries and General Requirements
  • Accurately takes off as required for CSI Divisions 1-46
  • Prices items of both self-performed and sub contracted work on a unit priced basis
  • Uses Subcontractor and Field Production Data to establish database pricing
  • Improves existing subcontractor relationships
  • Monitors coverage with the plan coordinators and solicits new subcontractors to bid
  • Reviews estimates for accuracy, constructability, and risks
  • Helps the Estimating Department as needed to facilitate teamwork
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements of the Estimator:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Estimator in Commercial Construction
  • Experience with projects over $5 Million
  • Must be familiar with concepts, practices, procedures, technologies and various programs within the construction field
  • Must be able to lead and take full charge of bid process
  • Be strategic and innovative in methodologies
  • Experience in concrete and carpentry
  • Must be proficient in MS Office, OST and Timberline
  • Must be a team player
  • Have the ability to foster a collaborative atmosphere and culture
  • Develop and maintain strong subcontractor relationships
